Jacqueline Fernandez, a Sri Lankan actor from Bahrain's Manama was raised in an ethnically diverse family. The father of Jacqueline, Elroy Fernandez, is Sri Lankan. Jacqueline has two older brothers as well as a younger sister. Parents relocated to Bahrain during the 1980s because of the Lankan civil unrest and hence she was born and raised in Bahrain. Padukone was born to badminton star Prakash Padukone. She was brought up in Bangalore and born in Copenhagen. As a teenager she played at the national badminton tournaments level. She later quit the game to make a profession as designer. Padukone's mother tongue is Konkani. The model is Mangalorean from her birthplace. Her lineage hails from Padukone village in Kundapura Taluk in the Udupi District in the state of Karnataka, India. Prakash Padukone's father was an international badminton player who retired. Her mom is a travel agent.
